CAPJ’s Pakistan programming is grounded in:
Opposition to military dominance and authoritarian governance
Defense of civilian supremacy, democratic rights, and rule of law
Accountability for U.S. policy that enables repression
Protection of diaspora communities facing surveillance, intimidation, and retaliation
CAPJ is not a partisan Pakistan platform.
It is a policy-focused, diaspora-informed organization that connects Pakistan’s internal repression to U.S. foreign policy choices and global democratic backsliding.

This discussion examined how Washington is leveraging its relationship with Pakistan’s military to shape regional power dynamics. It explored whether Pakistan’s participation in Trump’s so-called Board of Peace signals a de facto normalization with Israel and a betrayal of Palestinian self-determination, and what Pakistan’s recent defense agreement with Saudi Arabia means for its ties with Iran and other regional actors. The conversation also considered whether Pakistan is being positioned to support a future U.S.– or Israel-led confrontation with Iran, and what renewed U.S. interest in strategic assets like the Bagram airbase reveals about Washington’s broader regional strategy.
